Max Pine's career has focused on several key segments of the restaurant industry.
After leaving the CEO Position at
Restaurant Associates, Pine founded Aries Associates, a consulting firm that
provides strategic advice to CEO’s and
private equity investors on restaurant chain investments. In addition to
numerous domestic assignments, Pine has consulted on restaurant businesses in
England,
France and the Ukraine.
Prior to 2001, Pine served as a
consultant to Patricof & Co. Ventures (now Apax Partners) and BNY Capital
Markets Inc., the investment banking division of the Bank of New York, for
seven years. His focus was private
equity, M&A and advising restaurant companies on growth strategies.
Currently, he works primarily with Centre Partners, a NYC based
middle market buyout group. He has advised Centre on four buyouts.
He is known best for his
twenty-five year career at Restaurant Associates Corp., a full-service,
multi-concept restaurant company that owned various prominent theme restaurants
in NYC.
Pine led the process to significantly change RA’s business
strategy and lack of profits which included the divestiture of several
under-performing foodservice, specialty retail and hotel companies. Pine also identified,
evaluated and negotiated the acquisition of four chain restaurant businesses
that became highly successful for RA.
